The next one-week Technical Training in Water & Sanitation Infrastructure will be held from 12 – 17 September 2016 in Madagascar.
The training is intense and is given through a range of practical and theoretical sessions. While several theoretical courses are available, practical hands-on field experience is difficult to obtain. The BushProof training therefore focuses heavily on practical which include the following:
- Water well design, including sizing of screen and gravel pack
- Manual drilling using BushProof technique
- Field surveying and measurement to set up a gravity flow water supply & a pumping system
- Chlorine & alum jar tests
- Biosand filter construction
- Latrine dome slab construction
- Water testing (chemical, physical, bacteriological)
