BushProof’s workshop is building 350 Canzee handpumps for MEDAIR’s programme implemented in the North-East of Madagascar. Delivery is being made in three phases between September 2014 and June 2015.
One of BushProof drilling teams drilled four pumping wells in the centre of Antananarivo to treat a plume of fuel found to be contaminating the aquifer from a leaking tank at a service station. The contaminated groundwater will be treated after pumping and re-injected into the aquifer.
One of our team is drilling in a remote area of the South-West of the island at the moment. Machines and crew are working hard building 70-100m deep water wells.
BushProof is supervising the construction of an alternative biological water treatment system to treat the discharge of a vanilla treatment plant near Sambava (North-East of Madagascar). Two basins are lined with membrane and geotextile, then filled with gravel and aquatic plants. Our team is still on site.
We have just completed a session of our Technical Training in Water and Sanitation Infrastructure. We had seven participants from various countries, including South-Sudan, Zimbabwe, Yemen and Madagascar. The next training will be held in March 2015.
